Resolution authorizing the Mayor, the Director of Public Works, and the Director of Finance, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, to enter into a permanent easement with the Pennsylvania American Water Company (PAWC) for the installation, maintenance, repair, operation, and removal of a water line on city-owned property (Parcel ID 0061-H-00143-0000-00).

WHEREAS, the City is the owner in fee simple of that certain parcel of real property located in the 32nd Ward of the City of Pittsburgh, County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, being identified as Block and Lot No. 0061-H-00143-0000-00 in the Allegheny County Department of Real Estate (”Property”);
WHEREAS, PAWC operates a water system in the City of Pittsburgh;
WHEREAS, PAWC seeks a new location on the Property in order to install a new water line to connect with PAWC’s pipe system; and
WHEREAS, PAWC desires a non-exclusive right of way and easement upon, over, under, along, across, and through the Property for the purposes of installing, maintaining, repairing, operating, and abandoning in place a water line, as particularly shown in Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing to provide a permanent easement to PAWC to install, maintain, repair, operate, and finally remove a water line upon, over, under, along, across, and through certain portions of Parcel 0061-H-00143-0000-00, as shown in Exhibit “A” attached hereto.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor, the Director of Public Works, and the Director of Finance, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are authorized to enter into a permanent easement with PAWC for the installation, maintenance, repair, operation, and removal of a sewer line on city-owned property (Parcel ID 0061-H-00143-0000-00).
The Easement and Easement Area are depicted on the drawings that are attached hereto as Exhibit A.
