Title
Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Directors of the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Department of Public Works to enter into a License and Cooperation Agreement with Pirates Charities, a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation, to renovate Josh Gibson Field.

Body
WHEREAS, the City currently owns Josh Gibson Field (the “Field”), which is located adjacent to Ammon Recreation Center near the Bedford Dwellings community; and

WHEREAS, Pirates Charities is a not-for-profit corporation whose purpose and mission is to strengthen the community by supporting organizations and programs aimed at improving the lives of children and adults in the Pittsburgh region, with a special emphasis on supporting youth programs focused on health, fitness and education; and

WHEREAS, Pirates Charities has offered to provide funding to renovate the Field, which work shall include the field, bleachers, dugouts, a safety fence, scoreboard, sprinkler system, public announcement system, signage, site demolition and contractor/architect fees; and

WHEREAS, the City has offered to contribute to this renovation effort by providing funds for the construction of a concession stand/storage building/restroom for the Field; and

WHEREAS, the parties now wish to enter into a License and Cooperation Agreement to detail both parties' monetary commitments as well as their other respective responsibilities of the parties towards this renovation project.

Be it resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1. The Mayor and the Directors of the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Department of Public Works are authorized to enter into a License and Cooperation Agreement or Agreements with Pirates Charities, a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation, to renovate Josh Gibson Field.
