WHEREAS, Resolution 1007 of 1996 provided that the City issue monthly payments of $250 to survivors of the Fire, Municipal and Police Pension Funds who were receiving less than $250 per month.
WHERAS, the City has been issuing monthly payments of $350 to survivors through the three pension funds since 2001.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1.      The Director of Finance and the Controller are hereby authorized and directed to reimburse the three pension funds each month for the increase in monthly payments not to exceed $350 for survivors of members of the Fire, Municipal and Police Pension Funds, who receive less than $350 per month in pension benefits. The total annual cost is not to exceed eighty four thousand dollars ($84,000). Payment shall be made from the General Fund, JDE 11101.107.000.52410.
