Title
Resolution providing for the acceptance by the City of Pittsburgh from the County of Allegheny for certain portions of property acquired by Allegheny County for the creation of the connection of Parkview Boulevard to Browns Hill Road and the relocation of Old Browns Hill Road in the 15th Ward at no cost to the City of Pittsburgh.

Body

Whereas, the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh is sponsoring a project with land developers to improve access to the new Summerset Development, located on the former slag dump below the Squirrel Hill section of the City of Pittsburgh, by developing Parkview Boulevard, a new road, and relocating Old Browns Hill Road at its intersection with Browns Hill Road, to intersect with Parkview Boulevard; and

Whereas, the Allegheny County Department of Public Works has, via Ordinance 57-07-OR, acquired, without cost, right-of-way required to develop the entrance for Parkview Boulevard, relocate Old Browns Hill Road and widen the intersection approaches of Browns Hill Road; and

Whereas, the County Council of Allegheny County deems it advisable to convey any portion of property acquired for Parkview Boulevard and relocated Old Browns Hill Road to the City of Pittsburgh, which is depicted on the drawings that are attached hereto as Exhibit “A”, Parcels 2B and 3A.


Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. The Mayor, the Director of the Department of Finance and the Director of Public Works on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh are authorized to accept a deed from Allegheny County conveying vacant land in the 15th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh, as part of the development of Parkview Boulevard and relocated Old Browns Hill Road.
The vacant land is described as follows:

BEGINNING at a point on the required right-of-way line for Parkview Boulevard, said point being 28.00 feet right of and opposite Parkview Boulevard...
