Title
Resolution providing for the acceptance by the City of Pittsburgh from the County of Allegheny for certain portions of property acquired by Allegheny County for the creation of the connection of Parkview Boulevard to Browns Hill Road and the relocation of Old Browns Hill Road in the 15th Ward at no cost to the City of Pittsburgh.

      Whereas, the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh is sponsoring a project with land developers to improve access to the new Summerset Development, located on the former slag dump below the Squirrel Hill section of the City of Pittsburgh, by developing Parkview Boulevard, a new road, and relocating Old Browns Hill Road at its intersection with Browns Hill Road, to intersect with Parkview Boulevard; and
 
      Whereas, the Allegheny County Department of Public Works has, via Ordinance 57-07-OR, acquired, without cost, right-of-way required to develop the entrance for Parkview Boulevard, relocate Old Browns Hill Road and widen the intersection approaches of Browns Hill Road; and
 
      Whereas, the County Council of Allegheny County deems it advisable to convey any portion of property acquired for Parkview Boulevard and relocated Old Browns Hill Road to the City of Pittsburgh, which is depicted on the drawings that are attached hereto as Exhibit "A", Parcels 2B and 3A.
 
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.      The Mayor, the Director of the Department of Finance and the Director of Public Works on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh are authorized to accept a deed from Allegheny County conveying vacant land in the 15th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh, as part of the development of Parkview Boulevard and relocated Old Browns Hill Road.
The vacant land is described as follows:
 
Parcel 2B
BEGINNING at a point on the required right-of-way line for Parkview Boulevard, said point being 28.00 feet right of and opposite Parkview Boulevard right-of-way baseline, station 18+58; thence along the required right-of-way line for Parkview Boulevard; thence South 43°50'34"West, 6.44 feet to a point of curve, thence along the required right-of-way line for Parkview Boulevard; thence a curve to the left, a radius of 60.00 feet, an arc length of 94.25 feet, a chord distance of 84.86 feet and a chord bearing of South 1°09'35" East to a point of tangent, thence along the required right-of-way line for Browns Hill Road; thence North 46°09'45" West, 117.75 feet to a point, thence along the legal right-of-way line for Old Browns Hill Road; thence a curve to the left, a radius of 305.00 feet, an arc length of 50.63 feet, a chord distance of 50.58 feet and a chord bearing North 86°51'36" to a point of tangent, thence along the legal right-of-way line for Old Browns Hill Road, thence North 82°06'15" East, 37.53 feet to a point, at the PLACE OF BEGINNING.  Containing 0.06 acres, more or less.

BEGINNING at a point on the legal right-of-way line for Old Browns Hill Road, said point being 22.55 feet left of and opposite relocated Old Browns Hill Road right-of-way baseline, station 3+03; thence along the legal right-of-way line for Old Browns Hill Road; thence South 82°06'15" West, 274.14 feet to a point, thence along the required right-of-way line for Parkview Boulevard; thence North 43°50'34" East, 2.20 feet to a point of curve, thence along the required right-of-way line for Parkview Boulevard; thence a curve to the left, a radius of 297.00 feet an arc length of 126.62 feet, a chord distance of 125.66 feet and a chord bearing of North 31°37'47" East to a point of reverse curve, thence along the required right-of-way line for Parkview Boulevard; thence a curve to the right, a radius of 453.00 feet, an arc length of 106.94 feet and a chord distance of 106.69 feet and a chord bearing of North 26°10'45" East to a point, thence along the required right-of-way line for Parkview Boulevard; thence South 57°03'30" East, 56.00 feet to a point, thence along the required right-of-way line for Old Browns Hill Road; thence a curve to the left, a radius of 397.00 feet, an arc length of 48.78 feet, a chord distance of 48.75 feet and a chord bearing of South 29°25'18" West to a point of curve, thence along the required right-of-way line for Old Browns Hill Road; thence a curve to the left, a radius of 45.00 feet, an arc length of 72.36 feet, a chord distance of 64.81 feet and a chord bearing of South 20°09'58" East to a point of tangent thence along the required right-of-way line for Old Browns Hill Road, thence South 66°14'02" East, 62.96 feet to a point of curve, thence along the required right-of-way line for Old Brows Hill Road, thence a curve to the left, a radius of 100.00 feet, an arc length of 55.26 feet, a chord distance of 54.56 feet and a chord bearing of South 82°03'53" East to a point of tangent, the PLACE OF BEGINNING.  Containing 17,824.21 square feet (0.41 acres), more or less.
 
Summary:
Parcel 2B, PART OF Parkview Boulevard, and Parcel 3A, part of Old Browns Hill Road Relocated, are now part of the permanent right-of-way for their respective connections and realignments.
