Resolution authorizing, pursuant to Ch. 210 (“Acceptance of Gifts to City”) of the City Code, the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works to accept a donation of six (6) safety ladders from Friends of the Riverfront valued at Twelve Thousand Forty dollars ($12,040.00), to be installed along the southern shore of the Allegheny River from Rachel Carson Bridge to Point State Park at no cost to the City.

WHEREAS, a public safety concern exists along our riverfronts, especially along Allegheny Riverfront Park where fast moving water, heavy boat traffic, and high concrete walls make exiting the water nearly impossible; and
WHEREAS, Friends of the Riverfront have coordinated with the City to purchase six (6) safety ladders, funded by the Benter Foundation.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. Resolution authorizing, pursuant to Ch. 210 (“Acceptance of Gifts to City”) of the City Code, the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works to accept a donation of six (6) safety ladders from Friends of the Riverfront valued at Twelve Thousand Forty dollars ($12,040.00), to be installed along the southern shore of the Allegheny River from Rachel Carson Bridge to Point State Park at no cost to the City.
Section 2. The Department of Public Works will install and maintain these ladders on City property along the southern shore of the Allegheny River.
