Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of City Planning, to enter into an Agreement or Agreements between the City of Pittsburgh and South Side Slopes Neighborhood Association, for the installation and maintenance of a mural at Arlington Recreation Center. There is no cost to the City.
Body
WHEREAS, South Side Slopes Neighborhood Association has proposed the creation of a mural on the exterior wall of Arlington Recreation Center, on property owned by the City of Pittsburgh; and
WHEREAS, the installation of the mural is supported by the Department of Public Works and has been given approval by the City of Pittsburgh Public Art & Civic Design Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Public History, Art, & Design division of the Department of City Planning administers the implementation of community-led public art projects on City property; and
WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh intends to grant South Side Slopes Neighborhood Association license to install and maintain the artwork at this location, with no cost to the City of Pittsburgh and without transfer of ownership to the City of Pittsburgh.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. Authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of City Planning, to enter into an Agreement or Agreements between the City of Pittsburgh and South Side Slopes Neighborhood Association, for the installation and maintenance of a mural at Arlington Recreation Center.
