| 1 | | Proclamation | WHEREAS, on September 18th, 2007, Dr. Randy Pausch, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon University, gave his "Last Lecture" on campus which was titled, "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams;" and
WHEREAS, the complete lecture has been viewed by more than 2.5 million people and featured on "Good Morning America," "ABC World News," "CBS Evening News," and "Oprah;" and
WHEREAS, in his lecture, Dr. Pausch discussed his own childhood dreams, the lessons he learned from setbacks, and his career; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his work at CMU, Dr. Pausch has worked with the University of Virginia, Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, Adobe Systems, Walt Disney Imagineering, Google.com, and Media Metrix, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Pausch co-founded CMU's Entertainment Technology Center and developed "Alice", a free software program for 3-D animation for high school and college students which has been downloaded over one million times in the last year; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Pausch and his wife Jai now reside in Norfolk, VA with their children, Dylan, Logan, and Chloe.

WHEREAS, over the years Bishop Zubik has held many positions in the Pittsburgh Diocese including, but not limited to Vice-Principal of Quigley Catholic High School, Chaplain to the Sisters of St. Joseph and students at Mt.
