Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Jack Bogut for his career in service to the Pittsburgh region; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare November 1, 2011 to be “Jack Bogut Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, on November 6, 2011 Jack Bogut, host of the "Bogut in the Morning" show on 1320 WJAS, will be inducted into the Broadcasters Hall of Fame in Akron, Ohio; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bogut started his career as a radio morning host at KDKA in 1968 where he worked for fifteen years before moving on to WISH 99.7, and eventually 1320 WJAS; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bogut is a recipient of the March of Dimes AIR (Achievement in Radio) Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Pittsburgh Radio and Television Club's Lifetime Achievement Award for Radio, has been featured on ABC'S Good Morning America, and in USA Today as one of the top five morning radio personalities in the nation, and has also received two nominations to the National Radio Hall of Fame & Museum in Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bogut is a strong presence in his local community, serving on the Advisory Boards of both the International Poetry Forum and the Make-a-Wish Foundation, is the former Director of St. Clair Memorial Hospital, Eye and Ear Hospital, The Eye and Ear Institute, The Civic Light Opera Association, and one of the founders of Family House; and
 
WHEREAS, Mr. Bogut was recently given the "Outstanding Achievement Award" for radio by the Pittsburgh Radio & Television Club, the Ronald Macdonald "MAC" Award for his work with The Make-a-Wish Foundation and Children's Hospital, the Bob Prince Memorial Award for community service, and the Lifetime Achievement in Broadcasting Award by his fellow broadcasters and the March of Dimes.
