Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Director of Public Safety and the Chief of Police, on behalf of the Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Police, are hereby authorized to enter into a Grant Agreement with the DOJ for the receipt of grant monies in the amount of two hundred thirty one thousand, six hundred ninety eight dollars ($231,698.00).  These funds will be used to support the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police with purchasing equipment for the Academy, SWAT, the Tactical Negotiation Team, and Narcotics & Vice, and the purchase of four specialty vehicles for the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police to enhance law enforcement capabilities. Funds will be in chartfield: 2445, organization code 230000, account: 600000, subcode 600, budget year 2011. 

 

Section 2.                     The Director of Public and Chief of Police, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Police, are hereby further authorized to enter into agreement or agreements, contract or contracts, and to make all legitimate expenditures required under the terms and conditions of the Grant Agreement with the DOJ as outlined in Section 1 of this resolution. Said agreement(s), contract(s), or expenditures shall not exceed two hundred thirty one thousand, six hundred ninety eight dollars ($231,698.00).  These funds will be used to purchase equipment for the Academy, SWAT,the Tactical Negotiation Team, and Narcotics & Vice, and for the transfer of funds to the Equipment Leasing Authority for (4) specialty vehicles for the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.
