Title
Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Finance and/or the Director of the Department Public Safety to enter into a Lease Agreement or Agreements with Standard Holding Company for warehouse space at 1125-1127 Western Avenue.
 
Body
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.      The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Finance and/or the Director of the Department of Public Safety are hereby authorized to enter into a Lease Agreement or Agreements with Standard Holding Company and/or its assignees/transferees, of certain indoor and outdoor space of approximately 36,000 square feet located in the 21st Ward of the City of Pittsburgh at 1125-1127 Western Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA (the "Premises") for the purpose of storing equipment, materials, vehicles, and other items as needed by the Department of Public Safety.   
 
A.      The Lease Agreement or Agreements shall have an initial term of five (5) years and two (2) months.  The Lease Agreement or Agreements shall further provide the City with an option to extend the term for one (1) additional five-year period, with terms subject to renegotiation at such time.  
 
B.      The annual rental amount for the Premises (initial term) shall be an amount not to exceed Sixty Thousand Dollars ($60,000.00) per year, or Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) per month, plus all applicable real estate taxes and utility charges.
 
Section 2.
 
      A.      Stipulated rent and other amounts are to be chargeable to and payable from the following:
 
Department of Public Safety, Account 561950, Fund 1000, Organization 230000, Sub-Class 140, Budget Year 2011 and/or 2012.  
 
B.      After the first year, annual funding is contingent upon City Council's appropriation for each subsequent budget year.
 
C.      The Lease Agreement or Agreements shall be approved by the City Solicitor as to form and substance and shall, in addition to the terms stated herein, contain other terms and conditions deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
