Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Circle C Youth and Family Services and for all of the work that they do for youth and their families; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, September 13, 2011, to be “Circle C Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Circle C Youth and Family Services grew out of a vision of Mr. John Patek in the early 1970's to help children in a area where he felt the system has failed them; Circle C's commitment to its primary mission of serving at-risk kids and their families continues by providing community-based alternatives to institutionalization for troubled youth and reuniting them with their families whenever possible; and,
 
WHEREAS, with a focus on strengths, Circle C is committed to assisting children and their families in building solid foundations and supports within their own family and the community while instilling personal growth and positive values to achieve permanency for each child; and,
 
WHEREAS, on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Green Tree, Circle C will be hosting its 9th annual "Help Kids Lose the Blues!" benefit featuring Miss Freddye and Blue Faze, a Pittsburgh based R&B soul and blues band; and,
 
WHEREAS, in 2010, the event generated a total revenue of over $26,000 to benefit Circle C's six programs for kids and adults; and,
