Body
Whereas, the City of Pittsburgh intends to apply to the Partnership for Sustainable Communities, a partnership between the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD"), the U.S. Department of Transportation ("DOT") and the Environmental Protection Agency for a $1,000,000 Community Challenge Planning Grant for planning the Homewood area north and south of the East Busway (the "Project"); and
 
Whereas, the City desires to designate the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh as its agent to administer the Project and to transfer the grant funds to URA if a grant is awarded;
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.      The Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a Community Challenge Planning Grant Cooperation Agreement with Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh, in a form approved by the City Solicitor, designating URA as the City's agent for administration of a $1,000,000 Community Challenge Planning Grant from the Partnership for Sustainable Communities for the Project, requiring compliance by URA with federal program requirements and providing for the disbursement of Project funds to URA, such funds not to exceed $1,000,000 or the amount of the grant, whichever is less.
