Resolution providing for a Contract for consulting services for Firefighter job analysis and Firefighter Recruit examination, and providing for payment of the cost thereof, not to exceed $50,000.00.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Personnel and Civil Service Commission, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into a Contract for consulting services with Industrial/Organizational Solutions, Inc. (I/O Solutions, Inc.) pertaining to the following Firefighter job analysis and Firefighter Recruit examination:
· Job Analysis
· A review of the current Firefighter Recruit testing practices of the City.
· A thorough investigation of the elements of the job tasks which will yield a comprehensive job description of the position of Firefighter in the City of Pittsburgh.
· Provision and validation of an entry-level Firefighter examination.
· Setting written examination passing scores; providing written examination scores, statistical analysis reports and final content validity reports.
Said Contract shall be in a form approved by the City Solicitor and shall contain such terms and conditions as said Solicitor may require. The total amount shall not exceed $50,000.00 (Fifty Thousand Dollars) chargeable to and payable from Account #526100, Fund 1000, Sub Class 150, Organization Code 109000 and Budget Year 2011.
Section 2. The City Controller shall encumber funds for the testing contracts, subject to the amount of funds to be appropriated by City Council in respective budget years from the following chart accounts:

Section 3. Any ordinance or Resolution or part thereof conflicting with the provisions of this Resolution is herby repealed so far as the same affects this Resolution.
