Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend their ongoing battle to alleviate the pain of poverty and to bring hope to those who need it so desperately; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, June 28, 2011, to be “A Reel Good Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Majors Robert and Lynette Reel entered The Salvation Army's School for Officer Training in the Bronx, New York in 1970 and were jointly commissioned as officers and ordained ministers after graduation and stayed committed to The Salvation Army for 42 years; and,
WHEREAS, in 2004 their final appointment brought them to Pittsburgh for a second time where Major Robert was assigned as General Secretary, second in command in Western PA responsible for the operations of Allegheny County and in 2005 he was reassigned as Divisional Commander responsible for all operations in 28 counties; and,
WHEREAS, Major Lynette was appointed as Associate Divisional Commander who works with her husband in team ministry, providing pastoral care for officers in the division and is responsible for primary consultation to and oversight of the Women's Organizations programs with a direct liaison relationship to the Territorial President of Women's Ministries; and,
WHEREAS, Major Robert Reel earned a B.S. in Business Management with concentrated studies in organizational and church management graduating with honors from Eastern College in St. Davids and Theological Seminary in Philadelphia and was accepted in the Delta Mu Delta Society for Outstanding Business Students; and,
WHEREAS, Major Lynette Reel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management and a Servant Leader Award from Eastern College in St. Davids, PA ; and,
WHEREAS, together they have served those in need with a Christ-centered passion in such ways as manning kettles in the cold, feeding the homeless at community dinners, or shopping with children for new coats through Project Bundle-Up; and,
