Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and congratulate Eagle Scout Timothy Smith for his outstanding achievement of attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and his exceptional achievements during his high school years; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, June 14, 2011, to be “Timothy Smith Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

BODY
WHEREAS, the Eagle Scout Award is the highest rank in Scouting of which only 4 percent of youth earn and is based on performances in the areas of responsibility, leadership, service and outdoor skills; and,
 
WHEREAS, Timothy Smith, son of Steve and Linda Smith,  a member of Scout Troop 66 of the Greater Pittsburgh Council, has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on June 13, 2011; and,
 
WHEREAS, for his final project to obtain Eagle Scout, Tim, with the help of fellow scouts and leaders totally remodeled two of the bathrooms at Ascension Church                                                which involved gutting the bathrooms completely, painting walls, cutting and installing many tile on the floor, installing new light fixtures, and installing all new bathroom accessories which totaled over 160 hours of service time; and,    
 
WHEREAS, Tim attended Langley High School and was inducted into the National Honor Society in 10th grade and served as President of NHS during his senior year; he was a team player on the baseball, swimming and soccer teams all four years of high school and was on the golf team for three years; he has had perfect attendance all four years; and,
 
WHEREAS, Timothy graduated from Langley High School on June 12, 2011 as Valedictorian and was accepted in the school of engineering at Cornell University where he will be attending in the fall of this year; and,
TITLE
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and congratulate Eagle Scout Timothy Smith for his outstanding achievement of attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and his exceptional achievements during his high school years; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, June 14, 2011, to be "Timothy Smith Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
