Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize LEGO Kidsfest as great family friendly event sure to please and amaze all who attend and thank all of those involved in the planning and creating of the event and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, June 14, 2011, to be “LEGO Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

BODY  
WHEREAS, LEGO Kidsfest is a three-day hands-on, interactive and educational activity for kids ranging from 2 to 102 years old and will be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center from June 17-19, 2011
 
WHEREAS, LEGO Kidsfest enables you to get creative in the construction zones, meet LEGO Master Builders, help build the Creation Nation and Mystery Murals, experience LEGO Universe and LEGO Games, and see dozens of life-sized models made entirely from LEGO bricks, and there are even DUPLO construction areas for toddlers; and,
 
WHEREAS, LEGO and DUPLO therapy has been proven to be an effective way for children with social difficulties associated with Autism, Asperger Syndrome, Anxiety, Depression or Adjustment Disorders to improve their social interaction and communication skills; and,
 
WHEREAS, all visitors, including those in wheelchairs and those with special needs, will find the LEGO Kidsfest to be a fun, enriching and educational experience; and,
