WHEREAS, Dray Cottingham, a resident of the Larimer community, is a 16 year old student who attends City High School. He has been raised by his maternal aunt, Pamela Jenkins, who has taken on the responsibility to guide him in a positive direction as he matures; and
WHEREAS, Dray has written, produced, casted actors/actresses, created his own theatre company, found a venue, and has held rehearsals for a up and coming play he is directing; and
WHEREAS, the play entitled A Teen's Unspoken Truth and will debut on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at 8pm at the Pittsburgh Playwright's Theatre. He will be donating 50% of all proceeds of his play to the Tessa Williams Memorial Fund; and
WHEREAS, regarding this project, Dray has quoted that, "I am extremely thrilled to bring you all talent, a good time, and an amazing show filled with amazing actors and actresses".

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes Dray Cottingham for his many artistic talents, for leading by example, and for his unrelenting commitment to giving back to the very community where he was raised; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby proclaim Tuesday, May 24, 2011, to be designated, "Dray Cottingham" day in the City of Pittsburgh.
