Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does, hereby, declare Sunday, May 8, 2011, to be Mary Koski Kruhm Day in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Mary Kruhm was born, May 8, 1911 at home in Pittsburgh, to her parents Frances and Francis Koski; and
WHEREAS, Mary and her twin were two of 12 children, 4 boys and 8 girls, and she is the only surviving sibling; and
WHEREAS, Mary married her husband Paul on May 30, 1935, they had 2 children, a son Dennis and daughter Sue and adopted their daughter, Josephine, who Mary and Paul adopted when she was 10 years old,  10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, bingo is Mary's passion, second only to Steelers football, she attends bingo twice a week and misses only for Steelers games; and
WHEREAS, Paul and Mary were two of the original Steelers season tickets holders, dating back to when the Steelers played at Forbes Field and to this day, Mary is still a rabid Steelers fan, and as soon as the Super Bowl is over, she begins counting down the days to the beginning of training camp and the next season; and
WHEREAS, Mary still visits the Senior Center regularly and gets her hair done every other Saturday at 9:30 followed by breakfast at the Eat and Park, with her good friend Ida, often carrying her Steelers purse; and
WHEREAS, at 100 years young, Mary is an inspiration to her family and all who know her; she attributes her longevity to her faith in God, good parents, a good husband, great family and friends and good living and good health; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does, hereby, congratulate and commend Mary Koski Kruhm, on the momentous occasion of her 100th Birthday.
