Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Grandma B's Restaurant on their one year anniversary and for the continuous work they do on behalf of the residents of the City of Pittsburgh by opening and running a long missed asset in the Hill District - a soul satisfying sit down restaurant.

WHEREAS, The Hill District is a growing community which has witnessed a recent increase in community run businesses and establishments; and,
 
WHEREAS, One of those new and flourishing businesses is Grandma B's Restaurant, owned by Mr. Dorian Moorefield and located at 2537 Wylie Avenue in the heart of the Hill District; and,
 
WHEREAS, Grandma B's was established on April 2, 2010, and is named after Mr. Moorefield's grandmother, Ms. Eula Beatrice McCamary of the Hill District.  He credits his grandmother for instilling in him at an early age the values of hard-work and appreciation for people, and is honored to run an establishment in his grandmother's honor; and,
 
WHEREAS, The owner and his staff pride themselves in serving delicious meals with no pork products, and staying true to their Islamic heritage.  In an effort to do so, Mr. Moorefield took many visits to other restaurants around the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to find out what recipes are most popular in other cities.  While Grandma B's is known for specializing in breakfast, guests are welcome to visit their sit down restaurant for lunch or dinner as well; and,
 
WHEREAS, Mr. Moorefield credits his small staff, Ahmed Brazil and chef Al "Big Al" Diggs, formerly a chef at Churchill Country Club and Chatham College for their recent success and progress;
