Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh recognizes the great work done by the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners supporting women through networking conferences, discussions events including the “Make a Connection Award” and hereby declare Wednesday, April 20, 2011, to be “NAWBO-Pittsburgh Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the National Association of Women Business Owners, Pittsburgh Chapter (NAWBO) has dedicated itself to building the way for women entrepreneurs through connections and commitments so that women can achieve and surpass our goals; and
 
WHEREAS, NAWBO realizes that women can never achieve these goals alone, a dynamic sustainable community and service organizations support in so many ways though they are typically unrecognized volunteers, NAWBO  recognizes these volunteers through "Make the Connection Award"; and
 
WHEREAS, this year's selection of "Make the Connection Award" honorees  will be recognized at the  11th Annual Make the Connections -- a STAR Studded Evening GALA, Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Sheraton Station Square; and
 
WHEREAS, over the last 11 years, NAWBO has recognized over 250 community volunteers from non-profits; and
 
WHEREAS, this is not a competition, nonprofit organizations are asked to nominate a STAR who they feel makes their organization and Pittsburgh shine because NAWBO believes all leadership starts with service to the community; and
 
WHEREAS, this year's guest moderator is former Steeler Tight End Randy Grossman and this year's honorees are:
