WHEREAS, Program to Aid Citizen Enterprise (PACE), a partner agency of the United Way of Allegheny County is a non-profit funder and management support organization formed more than 43 years ago; and
WHEREAS, PACE's mission is to strengthen community=based nonprofit organizations that can, potentially or demonstrably, assist African American and economically disadvantaged communities to identify their needs and take effective action; and
WHEREAS, since its inception, PACE has provided over $10 million in grants and technical assistance to over 300 nonprofit organizations in isolated and neglected areas of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County; and
WHEREAS, on Friday, April 8, 2011, PACE will host the 3rd Annual Inclusive Voices Luncheon, an event like no other in the City, where local community and business professionals, along with emerging and established leaders, will have an opportunity to converse, listen and learn from one another, connect with one another and understand one another; and
WHEREAS, this exceptional event has allowed PACE to support the communities they serve by support a creative and unique opportunity to build connections and uncover new ideas.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh commends PACE for their efforts to assist economically disadvantaged communities to take effective action toward to address their needs.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does, hereby, declare Friday, April 8, 2011to be PACE Inclusive Voices Day in the City of Pittsburgh.
