Title: THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does, hereby, commend the Clean Pittsburgh Commission as they help Pittsburghers make a difference in their community and as they continue to recognize those unselfish volunteers who give of themselves to improve their community and the entire City of Pittsburgh. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does, hereby, congratulate and thank all of those nominees and award winners for the 4th Annual Bob Awards. Thank you!

WHEREAS, the Clean Pittsburgh Commission's 4th Annual Bob Awards were presented on Thursday, March 24, at the annual Meet n' Greet Mixer saluting the City's Clean Pittsburgh Stewards in 90 neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, this year's Volunteer of the Year went to Steve Root, a South Side Community Council Board member, selected for his work with Graffiti Watch, a group dedicated to preventing and removing graffiti; and
WHEREAS, Judy O'Connor, widow of the late Mayor, and her son Corey were on hand to present The Most Connected Neighborhoods Award to the seven Greater Hill District Area neighborhoods of Bedford Dwellings, Crawford Square, Lower Hill, Middle Hill, Oak Hill, Schenley Heights and Uptown; and
WHEREAS, the Manchester neighborhood was awarded for Most Improved and Greenfield was named Neighborhood of the Year; and
WHEREAS, a special award went to Rocco D'Angelo, former Pittsburgh Postmaster, who began a campaign several years ago to stamp out mail box graffiti by painting and repairing mail boxes in Mt. Oliver, Carrick, South Side, Oakland, Bloomfield, Friendship and the Strip; and
WHEREAS, other volunteers nominated for the Volunteer of the Year Award were: Walitta Abdullah (Beltzhoover); Monique Dietz (Stanton Heights); Dawn Harder (Carrick); Mary Savage (Homewood); Father Don Ware (South Side Slopes) and Harry Wolfe (Allentown).
