WHEREAS, The Pittsburgh Business Times and its sponsors will honor fifteen of the region's most outstanding women for their business accomplishments at a program which will include networking, dinner and an awards presentation; and,
WHEREAS, The Women in Business Awards are presented based on the individual's accomplishments and careers at both nonprofit and for profit organizations with the primary thrust of the program being how the winner has been a driving force in their workplace; and,
WHEREAS, The Pittsburgh Business Times will present The Women in Business Award to the following women:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the work of the fifteen honorees and congratulates The Pittsburgh Business Times for its vision and commitment to honor them at an event at the Westin Convention Center Hotel on March 16, 2011; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Wednesday, March 16, 2011, to be "WOMEN IN BUSINESS AWARDS DAY" in the City of Pittsburgh.
