WHEREAS, TerryAnn and Robert Michel have lived in Carrick for 40 years and fostered 105 children over the past 23 years, raised two biological children, Kristin now age 32 and Robert Jr now age 34, and adopted 3 children Kenneth (Kenny) and Bethany, both small children, and Maurice now age 18; and
WHEREAS, Kenny and his sister have so many medical care requirements that Robert retired from Pitney Bowes to devote his time to them; and
WHEREAS, TerryAnn has been involved on the Phillips Park Advisory Council for over 5 years and involved in Phillips Park for 35 years; and she worked as a City of Pittsburgh lifeguard 36 years ago at Oliver Bath House; and
WHEREAS, Robert graduated from Brentwood high school and TerryAnn graduated from Baldwin high school and both used the park and volunteered in the park before buying a house and living in the neighborhood of Phillips Park for the past 40 years; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, The Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Mr. Robert and Mrs. TerryAnn Michel's contributions to children and the Carrick community over the past many decades, and laud them both for doing such good work in our fine neighborhood of Carrick and the City of Pittsburgh.
