Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the 20th anniversary of Quantum Theatre and thanks Karla Boos and the entire staff for providing innovative works to enrich Pittsburgh's art scene; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare February 19, 2011 “Quantum Theatre Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, on February 19, 2011, Quantum Theatre will celebrate their 20th anniversary with a gala event, The Q Ball, at Clear Story Studio on the South Side; and
 
WHEREAS, Quantum Theatre was founded by Karla Boos in 1990; and
 
WHEREAS, the Theatre has become a fixture of Pittsburgh's art scene and has been recognized nationally and internationally for its innovative work; and
 
WHEREAS, the Theatre stages its productions environmentally, bringing the works out of a typical theatre setting and into such varied locations as Mellon Park, the swimming pool under Braddock Library, an abandoned industrial site, and the Pittsburgh Zoo to showcase the unique history and beauty of the City of Pittsburgh; and
 
WHEREAS, the Theatre continues to support young playwrights, actors, and directors from the region and around the world.
