Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:            
 
Section 1.  The Director of Public Safety and the Chief of Police, on behalf of the Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Police, are hereby authorized to enter into a Grant Agreement with the DOJ for the receipt of grant monies in the amount of three hundred and nine thousand, one hundred ninety four dollars ($309,194.00).  These funds will be used to support the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police with purchasing radios to better address crime and enhance law enforcement capabilities. Funds will be in chartfield: 2445, organization code 230000, account: 600000, subcode 600, budget year 2011.  
 
Section 2.  The Director of Public and Chief of Police, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Police, are hereby further authorized to enter into agreement or agreements, contract or contracts, and to make all legitimate expenditures required under the terms and conditions of the Grant Agreement with the DOJ as outlined in Section 1 of this resolution. Said agreement(s), contract(s), or expenditures shall not exceed three hundred and nine thousand, one hundred ninety four dollars ($309,194.00).  These funds will be used to purchase hand-held radios for the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.
