Title: Now, Therefore, be it resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and congratulate The Pittsburgh Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. for 66 years of excellence and for its endless contribution and dedication to African American youth of the City of Pittsburgh; and Be It Further Resolved, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby proclaim Saturday, January 15, 2011, as "Jack and Jill Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

Whereas, Jack & Jill of America, Inc. was founded January 24, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from a meeting of 20 mothers with the idea of bringing together children in a social and cultural environment. The organization continues on dedicating its resources to develop and disseminate child development educational material, and improving the quality of life for African-American children; and
Whereas,  the Pittsburgh Chapter of Jack and Jill was organized in 1944, and has been encouraging, celebrating and showcasing our youth through their biennial Presentation Ball since 1982. The Pittsburgh Chapter of Jack and Jill is hosting its 2011 Presentation Ball on Saturday, the fifteenth of January; and
