Title
Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Finance and/or the Director of the Department of Public Works to accept transfer of an existing Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Environmental Protection ("DEP")-issued Water Obstruction and Encroachment Permit and an existing DEP-issued Submerged Land License, both originally granted to Riverlife Task Force for improvements to the Monongahela Wharf Landing.
 
Body
Whereas, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania awarded numerous monetary grants to the Riverlife Task Force ("Riverlife") for improvements to the Monongahela Wharf Landing, including the construction and maintenance of a new boat ramp, pedestrian path, concrete box planters, and improvements to the bulkhead of the existing wall and asphalt path along the right bank of the Monongahela River (collectively, the "Project"); and
Whereas, to facilitate the Project, Riverlife received a Water Obstruction and Encroachment Permit from the DEP; and
Whereas, Riverlife also entered into a Submerged Land License Agreement with the DEP to permit the construction, repair, replacement, operation, maintenance, and removal of a boat launching ramp in the Monongahela River; and
Whereas, having completed the Project, Riverlife has now requested that the City accept transfer of the aforementioned permit and license and the City has agreed to this request.
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.      The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Finance and/or the Director of the Department of Public Works are hereby authorized to accept transfer of an existing Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Environmental Protection ("DEP")-issued Water Obstruction and Encroachment Permit and an existing DEP-issued Submerged Land License originally granted to Riverlife Task Force for improvements to the Monongahela Wharf Landing.
