Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Mr. Matthew Provolt for his volunteer efforts and pride in his community; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, December 28, 2010, to be “Matthew Provolt Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS,  Matthew Provolt received recognition as an Outstanding Young Citizen in the year 2004 and graduated from Taylor Allderdice in 2007; and,
 
WHEREAS, while attending Taylor Allderdice High School, Mathew Provolt took it upon himself to create a positive website for people from the West End neighborhoods to share information and pictures of walks and memories of the community; and,    
 
WHEREAS, since beginning the website, many older residents, including some who have moved away, visit the website for the memories and even add their own stories from the West End and surrounding communities; and,
 
WHEREAS, Mr. Provolt received the prestigious Eagle Scout Award in 2007 from Troop 66 in Sheraden; his high school graduation project was about revitalization in the West End and in that same year he volunteered with the Redd Up crew for projects in Sheraden; and,
 
WHEREAS, since graduating from Taylor Allderdice, he has been studying architecture at Kent State University and plans on attending graduate school in the fall of 2011 for Masters Degrees in both Architecture and Urban Design; and,
