• Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend the South Brook Titans Girls Softball Team for their drive, energy, and teamwork, and congratulates them on their achievement on the diamond as the 2010 City League Champions in the City of Pittsburgh. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Pittsburgh does hereby proclaim Tuesday, December 7, 2010 “South Brook Titans Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, after finishing the 2009 softball season with back-to-back championships, the South Brook Titans Softball Team began the 2010 season with even more determination to go for the three-peat; and

WHEREAS, this focus resulted in an outstanding season with the South Brook Titans defeating South Hills Middle School in the championship by a score of 8 to 5. The South Brook Titans went on to defeat Sterrett Middle School by a score of 19 to 4 to win their 3^rd City League Championship in a row for a record 10-1 season; and

WHEREAS, the 2010 South Brook Titan Girls Softball Team consists of 8^th graders Lauren Zola, Kacey Boland, Katie Church, Lexi Binnie, Becca Ross, and Tianah Nelson; 7^th graders Sarah Holzer, Brooklyn Bruno, Chrissy Lebarty, Brittany Reddy, Erin Denk, Becca Boland, and Danielle Pittas; and 6^th graders Kelsey Garrubba, Bailey Hannan, Maura Carr, Missy Baumgart, Brianna Rau, and Victoria McCrea; and

WHEREAS, the adults who motivated these young women to excel are Coach Tom Nash, supported by Athletic Director Michael McGuire and Principal Gina Reichert; and
