Title: Now, Therefore, be it resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognize Mr. Reggie Bridges for his many accomplishments, leading by example, and for his unrelenting commitment to educating communities throughout the City of Pittsburgh and abroad. Congratulations on 50 years and look forward to celebrating many more; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby proclaim Tuesday, November 30, 2010, to be designated, “Reggie Bridges” day in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Reggie Bridges was born on November 30, 1960. He was raised in the Homewood area and graduated from Westinghouse High School. He has always been a advocate for education, and more importantly understood the importance of higher education; and
WHEREAS, Reggie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a Masters of Business Administration, and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence, Law Degree.  While Reggie has worn many hats throughout his career, he has always made the community a priority. Whether he was serving his country, holding public office, or being a dedicated church member, it was done with integrity and humility; and
 
WHEREAS, not only is Reggie an advocate for the betterment of our communities, he is a devoted husband to his wife Quita and dedicated father to his two children, Ashley and Michael. As he continues his commitment to education, he currently serves as the Academic Student Supervisor at Duquesne University; and
WHEREAS, on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, Reggie Bridges will turn 50 years young. Family, friends and colleagues will come together and celebrate this momentous occasion.
