WHEREAS, on December 1, 2010, Reuben Fingold will celebrate his 105th birthday; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fingold served in the United States Air Force during World War II and was based in Long Island, New York; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fingold attended the University of Pittsburgh, received his law degree from Duquesne University in 1930 and practiced civil law into his 90's; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fingold is the oldest living graduate of the Duquesne University School of Law and was part of the last class to take oral final exams in front of a panel of teachers; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fingold and his wife, Helen, were married for 68 years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fingold has a daughter, Betty, who resides in San Francisco; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fingold is a proud Pittsburgher who loves his city and has always lived in the area, except during his military service.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the 105th birthday of Reuben Fingold and wishes him a happy day with family and friends; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare December 1, 2010 "Reuben Fingold Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
