Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh commends the Turkish Cultural Center of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Dialogue Foundation for 10 years of providing an annual opportunity of cultural exchange; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares October 17, 2010, “Friendship Dinner Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the Turkish Cultural Center of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Dialogue Foundation will host the 10th Annual Friendship Dinner on October 17, 2010; and
 
WHEREAS, the dinner will host members of different communities and faiths as they come together to enjoy the cultural diversity of the Pittsburgh region; and
 
WHEREAS, the dinner organizers plan to present a program including a water marbling demonstration, calligraphy, Turkish folk dance and the ney instrument; and
 
WHEREAS, the Turkish Cultural Center of Pittsburgh works to bring people together in a friendly atmosphere to learn about each other's cultural differences and similarities; and
 
WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Dialogue Foundation is dedicated to promoting intercultural and interfaith dialogues and encouraging cultural exchange through social, art, and educational events.
