WHEREAS, on September 30, 2010, Gateway to the Arts will host Tap Into Art 2010 at the J. Verno Studios; and
WHEREAS, Gateway to the Arts is a leader in arts in education initiatives throughout Western Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, Tap Into Art 2010 will honor Don Marinelli, the co-founder and executive producer of Carnegie Mellon University's Entertainment Technology Center; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the Entertainment Technology Center is to foster leadership in education and research that combines technology and fine arts to create new processes, tools, and vision for storytelling and entertainment; and
WHEREAS, Tap Into Art 2010 will feature performances by Shakespeare-in-the-School, Cello Fury, an interactive video project by Billy Jackson and a sound installation by R. Weis.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby thank Gateway to the Arts and Don Marinelli for their efforts to promote arts education in the Pittsburgh region; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare September 30, 2010, "Tap Into Art 2010 Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
