WHEREAS, in its first year, forty-nine city employees formed three teams and participated in the 'CityFit Wellness at Work' softball program and joined the Pittsburgh Sports League; and
WHEREAS, now, in its third year, CityFit once again formed its own league, with seven teams and one hundred twenty employees participating, representing the following City Departments and Authorities: Fire; Finance; Council; City Clerk; CIS; the Mayor's Office; Mayor's 311; Public Works; Personnel; City Parks; OMI: Police; City Controller; Law; Animal Control; EMS; and the Housing Authority, Water Authority and URA; and
WHEREAS, the 'CityFit Wellness at Work' softball committee, Michele Burch, Jamie Warnock, Mike Hyjurick, Yazmin Shaheed, Chuck O'Neil, Jeff Koch and Manda Metzger are to be commended for their willingness to take on the extra work and responsibility which comes with running a seven team league with play-offs and a Championship game and picnic; and
WHEREAS, special thanks go to Jeff Koch for all of his hard work to keep the field lined and maintained each week and, also, Rich Crux and Rachel Crux, who were willing to take on the responsibility of umpiring; and
WHEREAS, the CityFit Black team, with a record of 11-1-0, defeated the CityFit Orange, on Sunday, August 15, 2010, to win the third CityFit Wellness Softball Championship; and
WHEREAS, the members of that team:

are to be commended for winning back-to-back-to-back championships; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby congratulate the CityFit Black team on its third consecutive Championship and does, hereby, support the CityFit Wellness at Work program in their efforts to promote wellness and camaraderie among the employees of the City of Pittsburgh.
