Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does herby recognize and commend Mr. Jean-Pierre Collet for his service to France and congratulates him for receiving that nation's high honor; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declares September 27, 2010, “Jean-Pierre Collet Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, on September 27, 2010, Jean-Pierre Collet will receive the medal of Chevalier of the Legion d'Honneur; and
 
WHEREAS, the Legion d'Honneur was established as a French order by Napoleon Bonaparte, First Consul of the First Republic, on May 19, 1802; and
 
WHEREAS, the Order is the highest decoration in France to honor military and civilian service; and
 
WHEREAS, this honor will be presented by His Excellency Pierre Vimont, Ambassador of France to the United States; and
 
WHEREAS, Mr. Collet served as the Honorary Consul of France to the United States from 1979 to 2008.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does herby recognize and commend Mr. Jean-Pierre Collet for his service to France and congratulates him for receiving that nation's high honor; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declares September 27, 2010, "Jean-Pierre Collet Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
