Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and honor the Lebanese-American community of Our Lady of Victory Maronite Catholic Church for the length and quality of its service to the community; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Sunday, September 19, 2010, to be “Lebanese-American Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, The Lebanese-American community of Our Lady of Victory Maronite Catholic Church has served Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania for more than a century since its founding in 1902; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Maronite Lebanese-American Community has provided members of the Armed Forces who have served their country in all of its armed conflicts, and during that period, many of them earning awards for valor and bravery under fire; and,
 
WHEREAS, Members of the Maronite Lebanese-American community have distinguished themselves in all walks of life, including the Arts, Business, Education, Entertainment, Government, Medicine, Journalism, the Military, Religion, and Science; and,
 
WHEREAS, The Maronite Lebanese-American community is one of the founding members of the Pittsburgh Folk Festival; and,
 
WHEREAS,  The Maronite Lebanese-American community has become justifiably famous for the quality of its cuisine of which they will offer evidence of its culinary achievements at its annual Food Festival on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 17, 18, and 19, 2010 located at 1000 Lindsay Road in Carnegie; and,
