(Council Districts 6, 7, 8, and 9)

WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh intends to apply to the U.S. Department of Transportation (“DOT”) for a $30,000,000 Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (“TIGER II”) Discretionary Grant for the Pittsburgh Eastern Corridor Multi-Modal Improvements project for intermodal transportation improvements in eastern City neighborhoods (the “Project”); and

WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh intends to apply to the U.S. Department of Transportation (“DOT”) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”) for a $1,500,000 Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (“TIGER II”) Community Challenge Planning Grant for planning to transform an existing six-mile stretch of rail right-of-way into a green riverfront rail with trail corridor extending from downtown Pittsburgh to the eastern edge of the City (the “Project”); and

WHEREAS, the City desires to designate the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh as its agent to administer the Projects and to receive funds directly from DOT if a grant is awarded;

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. The Mayor, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, is hereby authorized to execute and file an application for federal assistance, certifications, assurances and related necessary or appropriate documents required by the U.S. Department of Transportation (“DOT”) for a $30,000,000 Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (“TIGER I...
