(Council Districts 6, 7, 9).

Whereas, URA wishes to obtain financial assistance from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the amount of $4,000,000 for the following projects (collectively, the “Projects”):

Federal Hill Housing Phase 2 $1,000,000
Allegheny Riverfront/Tippins 835,000
Highland and Wallace Buildings 825,000
Reed Roberts 390,000
Middle Hill Phase 2 325,000
Garfield/Penn Avenue Phase 3b 400,000
Bryant Street Phase 2 225,000

Whereas, URA has prepared seven applications for financial assistance for the Projects (the “Applications”) under the under the FY 2009-2010 Housing and Redevelopment Assistance Program; and

Whereas, URA has indicated in the Applications that $6,117,051 in Community Development Block Grant, HOME, City bond, Pittsburgh Development Fund and other local funds will be provided as the matching share of Project costs; and

Whereas, the City of Pittsburgh and URA are desirous of obtaining funds from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for the prevention and elimination of blight under Section 4(c) of the Housing and Redevelopment Assistance Law, as amended.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. URA is hereby authorized to file the Applications with DCED for seven grants in the amounts set forth above and totaling $4,000,000 for the Projects for FY 2009-2010 and administration thereof.
