Title
Resolution closing out Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Community Conservation Partnerships Grant Project (BRC-TAG-11.5-32) for a Natural Areas Study of the Four RAD Regional Parks
 
Body
Whereas the four RAD Regional Parks provide a variety of experiences for the residents and visitors of the City of Pittsburgh, including access to the ecosystems or natural areas of Southwestern Pennsylvania;
 
Whereas the natural areas also provide habitat for native plants and animals that provide diversity and enrich the experiences of visitors to our regional parks;
 
Whereas these natural areas are subject to issues, stress and degradation due to their urban context;
 
Whereas the City of Pittsburgh has prepared a Natural Areas Study of the four RAD Regional Parks (Frick, Highland, Riverview and Schenley);
 
Whereas the purpose of the Natural Areas Study is to provide detailed existing conditions, an assessment of those conditions, and identify measures that can be taken to protect and restore these natural areas; and
 
Whereas, The Natural Areas Study was financed in part by a Community Conservation Partnerships Program grant under the administration of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation, under contract number BRC-TAG-11.5-32.
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.
 
a.      The project was completed in accordance with the Grant Agreement.
b.      All Project expenditures have been made and were in accordance with the grant Agreement.
c.      The Study and related materials are acceptable to the City of Pittsburgh.
d      The Study and related materials will be used to guide future recreation and conservation decisions.
