Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes and commends Gregg Troian for dedicating his time and talents to helping Family House expand its capacity to provide services to more families; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares June 30, 2010, “Gregg Troian Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Family House operates four facilities where it offers convenient, affordable, home-like accommodations to those seeking treatment for serious illness in any local hospital; and
 
WHEREAS, the staff and volunteers of Family House have supported over 100,000 families from all over the United States and from over 40 countries; and
 
WHEREAS, Gregg Troian joined the Family House Board of Directors nine years ago and he accepted the position of Chairman of the Board in 2007; and
 
WHEREAS, under Mr. Troian's leadership, Family House raised $4 million in a capital campaign and negotiated an agreement with the University of Pittsburgh to open its fourth facility, Family House University Place, that allows the organization to serve an additional 300 families per month; and
 
WHEREAS, this new Family House location opened on time and under budget; and
 
WHEREAS, Mr. Troian recently stepped down from his successful tenure as Chairman and remains an active Board member.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes and commends Gregg Troian for dedicating his time and talents to helping Family House expand its capacity to provide services to more families; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares June 30, 2010, "Gregg Troian Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
