Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Pittsburgh Public School's Division of Safety for the continued efforts to provide a safe place for our children to learn and grow; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, June 22, 2010, to be “Division of School Safety Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Public School's Division of School Safety works in conjunction with students, school staff, parents, community leaders, city police and other governmental agencies in order to ensure the safety of our children during school hours; and,
 
WHEREAS, in addition, the Division of School Safety provides police and security services for schools during after school activities, and athletic events, as well as board meetings; and,
 
WHEREAS, the School Safety Division also serves as liaison and contact point for Federal, State, County and Local Law Enforcement and Criminal Courts, and takes part in city-wide committees and community activities; and,
 
WHEREAS, as the 2009-2010 school year comes to an end, we would like to thank all Pittsburgh Public School Security Officers for the job they do to protect our children; and,
 
WHEREAS, we would also like to recognize Chief Robert Fadzen for his leadership and passion to enhance school safety through training and education; and,
 
WHEREAS, we would also like to recognize Sector I Commander Kenneth Scott, III and Sector II Commander Lisetta Novicki for their dedication and service; and,
