WHEREAS, each year, the Arlington Civic Council recognizes outstanding volunteers, who make a difference, in their community; and
WHEREAS, David Cahill is this year's honoree, for his dedicated service to the improvement of his neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, no task is too small, or too large, for Mr. Cahill and he is always willing to help anyone in anyway he can; and
WHEREAS, David Cahill is a life-long resident of Arlington, where he has worked tirelessly to improve his neighborhood, not only esthetically, but, by giving of himself to his neighbors, without, need for recognition, which is what is truly necessary to make a group of houses into a neighborhood; and
WHEREAS , in addition to his volunteer time, David Cahill, also, enjoys spending time with his wife of 27 years, Tonya, as they watch with joy, as their two children, Julia, a student of Carnegie Mellon University, School of Art, and David, III, a student of the University of Pittsburgh, School of Physics, in the fall, grow and mature into adults their parents are proud of every day.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does, hereby, recognize and commend David Cahill for his dedication and service to the Arlington Neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does, hereby, proclaim Monday, June 07, 2010, to be DAVID CAHILL DAY in the City of Pittsburgh.
