Title
Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Directors of the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Department of Public Works to enter into a License and Project Agreement with Pirates Charities, a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation, to renovate Camelus F. Sanguigni Field in Brighton Heights.

Body
WHEREAS, the City currently owns Field 6/Camelus F. Sanguigni Field in the John Merry Field complex (the “Field”) in the Brighton Heights community; and

WHEREAS, Pirates Charities is a not-for-profit corporation whose purpose and mission is to strengthen the community by supporting organizations and programs aimed at improving the lives of children and adults in the Pittsburgh region, with a special emphasis on supporting youth programs focused on health, fitness and education; and

WHEREAS, Pirates Charities has offered to renovate the Field at no cost to the City, which work shall include the field renovation, dugouts and dugout benches, fencing, landscape/tree planting, water supply/irrigation, the purchase of a batting cage, the replacement of bleachers and contractor/architect fees; and

WHEREAS, the Project will serve as a pilot site for PC's “Fields for Kids Lets Go Green” Initiative, such that PC, working with the Green Building Alliance and the National Resources Defense Council, will integrate environmentally friendly elements into the renovation, including green spaces, recreational amenities and the creation of a green infrastructure; and

WHEREAS, the parties now wish to enter into a License and Project Agreement to facilitate the aforementioned renovations to the Field.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. The Mayor and the Directors of the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Department of Public Works are authorized to enter into a License and Project Agreement or Agreements with Pirates Charities, a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation...
