Title
Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Works, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, to sell reclaimed asphalt, to offset the cost of new asphalt, at a minimum price of $7.00 per ton, or highest acceptable offer.
 
Body
WHEREAS, in the course of milling City streets in preparation for new asphalt, reclaimed asphalt is produced. And,
 
WHEREAS, there are asphalt vendors willing to purchase this reclaimed asphalt. And,
 
WHEREAS, these vendors are willing to issue credit memos, or make direct payment, to the City to offset new asphalt purchases.
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.      The Director of the Department of Public Works, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, is hereby authorized to sell reclaimed asphalt, for credit memos, or direct payments, to the City, for the purpose of reducing the cost of new asphalt purchases, at a minimum price of $7.00 per ton, or highest acceptable offer.
 
All credit memos issued from vendors from whom the City purchases new asphalt shall be directly applied to new asphalt purchases from same vendor.
 
All direct payments from vendors shall be deposited to the General Fund, Fund 1000, Org. 420000, Account 482400, Budget Year 2010.
