Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend this year's retirees for their dedication and commitment to protecting and servicing the people of the City of Pittsburgh; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Friday, April 30, 2010 to be “Fraternal Order of Police Fort Pitt Lodge #1 Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the Fraternal Order of Police Fort Pitt Lodge #1 is the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protect and serve our communities; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Fraternal Order of Police Fort Pitt Lodge #1 is committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement and employee representation; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Fraternal Order of Police Fort Pitt Lodge #1 is hosting its Annual Retirement and Awards Dinner Party on Friday, April 30, 2010 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in the North Side of Pittsburgh; and,
 
WHEREAS, the following eighteen officers who retired from the City of Pittsburgh Police Bureau in the year 2009 are being honored:    Kathleen Amoroso, Anthony L. Charles,     Thomas A. DeTemple, Thomas G. Foley, Glenn E. Ford, Sr., Peter Grbach, Caryn S. Lenz, Andrew J. Lisiecki, Cheryl A. Lunz, Diana L. O'Brien-Martini, Karen M. McLellan,            David A. Moreland, Renee E. Paola-Delfrate, Michael P. Rieber, Larry D. Ross,                 William M. Schmidt, Michael A. Scott, Clinton E. Winkler; and,
   
WHEREAS, James J. Malloy is awarded the Pat McNamara Lifetime Achievement Award; and,
 
WHEREAS, Michael L. Macklen, Jr., posthumously awarded the Outstanding Service Award; and,
 
WHEREAS, Patrick M. Moffatt and Steven J. Hitchings are awarded Meritorious Awards; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend this year's retirees for their dedication and commitment to protecting and servicing the people of the City of Pittsburgh; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Friday, April 30, 2010 to be "Fraternal Order of Police Fort Pitt Lodge #1 Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
