WHEREAS, on May 12, 2010, the Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management (BCNM) at Robert Morris University will celebrate its 10th anniversary; and
WHEREAS, BCNM will mark the anniversary with it's first-ever fundraiser, titled "10 and Growing
a Celebration of the Bayer Center in our Community;" and
WHEREAS, the fundraiser will feature an original theatrical performance by Bricolage, which was commissioned specially for the event; and
WHEREAS, the mission of BCNM is to provide affordable, practical and effective management and governance tools, information, education & research that strengthen nonprofit missions and capitalize on all investments of time, talent and money made in regional nonprofit organizations; and
WHEREAS, BCNM assists nonprofit organizations by providing a number of consulting service, connections to other nonprofits and research services; and
WHEREAS, BCNM offers a series of educational courses on non-profit management, governance, finance, and technology which are instructed by other successful leaders of the nonprofit community in Pittsburgh.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh recognizes the 10th anniversary of the Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management and thanks its staff and partners for working to strengthen nonprofit organizations in the Pittsburgh region; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares May 1, 2010, "Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
