WHEREAS, we recognize Brashear High School senior Damian Link who claimed his fourth City League championship Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Carrick; and,
WHEREAS, In addition to his fourth City League championship, Damian Link placed in the Steve Deaugustino Holiday Classic in the years '06, '07 and 2008 and placed in the Allegheny County Championships in '07, '08 and 2009, Damian was Team Captain in the 2008-09 season; and,
WHEREAS, Damian Link's career record is 75-37 he was the fifth wrestler in the 21-year history of the City League tournament to win four championships and the first from Brashear; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to his wrestling career, Damian Link is a high honor roll student and is involved in the community service activity titled C.H.A.N.G.E.S. sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh and the Collegiate YMCA; and,
WHEREAS, Damian enjoys rollerblading, camping, hiking, bike riding where he biked with his father along the Great Allegheny Passage approximately 350 miles from Pittsburgh to Washington D.C.; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Link plans on attending college to pursue a career in computer/electrical engineering, ultimately in the field of robotics; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Damian Link for his accomplishments in the sport of wrestling and wish Damian the best of luck in his future endeavors; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, April 27, 2010, to be "Damian Link Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
