Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Dan Faiello for his selfless act to a citizen in need; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, April 20, 2010, to be “Dan Faiello Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Dan Faiello has been working in the Fifth Division of the Public Works Department during the winter season and the in-house asphalt division in the summer for seven years; and,
 
WHEREAS, on March 17 of 2010, Dan Faiello was on his way to pick up a driver from the garage when a man traveling from Akron, Ohio who was forced to get off the 279 due to an accident,  stopped to ask him for directions to Children's Hospital; and,
 
WHEREAS, Dan Faiello began to explain to him how to proceed, but when he found out the urgency of his situation, Mr. Faiello did him one better by letting the man and his family follow him all the way to the front door of the hospital stopping along the way to make sure the family knew what direction he was going next; and,
 
WHEREAS, little did Dan know what an impact his action had on the Bennett family.  The man's disabled two-year-old son was scheduled for surgery which would have been canceled had he not arrived on time; and,    
 
WHEREAS, Dan Faiello is hailed a hero by the Bennett family and will always be appreciated; and,
